Shaadi Season!

If you too live in Mumbai, you know that December, more than winter,  is more like the wedding season! And as we all know, one thing that goes in hand with almost every Indian wedding is dressing up and that definitely has to be my favorite bit!

If you know me and my love for Indian dresses, and are anyone like, me you’d probably relate to how exciting it is to attend an elaborate Indian wedding!

Well, when we talk about getting ready for a ‘desi shaadi’, it’s all about heavy suits, statement jewelry and ornaments, glam make-up and so on, but the most important thing is how one has to be so dressed up, yet not go OTT (for all those who aren’t aware  with the term OTT it means, ‘over the top’, or in simple words over dressing!)  at the same time! Hence, here’s a very fine look I’ve put up for you guys.

I’ve chosen a cream Anakali suit, which was purchased from an exhibition and then customized. The fabric used in the suit is a Lucknowi, with hand work embroidery work done on the yoke. The sleeves and the duppatta, have sheer work with golden mirror work on it, giving it a very rich look!

Since, the suit was such a heavily embellished piece by itself, I chose to go subtle, for the bottoms! I paired it up with chikankari cream colored palazzo pants, keeping the monochrome pallet of the ensemble constant!  

For the accessories I’ve chosen a pair of chunky statement gold earrings with a stone in the center, which I bought from magic mirror. To give the whole attire a more Indian look I’ve put a small little drop shaped golden bindi and to round up the whole look, I’ve gone for cream and gold wedged heels which I bought from JJ & Sons.

All in all, this look according to me this is perfect for an Indian wedding or this would even do perfectly well for a reception look. It makes a  elegant and graceful look 
because of the appropriate blend of the rich fabric and the subtle color!
